Healthy life style


Nowadays our life is getting tenser. People live under the press of different problems, such as social, ecological, economic and others. They constantly suffer from stress, noise and dust in big cities, diseases and instability.
A person should be strong and healthy in order to overcome all difficulties.
To achieve this aim people ought to take care of their physical and mental health. There are several ways to do it. The state of your body depends on how much time you spend doing sports. At least everybody must do morning exercises every day. The healthiest kinds of sports are swimming, running and cycling. Healthy food is also a very important factor. Overeating causes many dangerous diseases. The daily menu should include meat, fruit and vegetables, milk product, which are rich in vitamins, fat, proteins and etc. To be healthy, people should get rid of their bad habits. It's necessary to stop smoking and drinking much. Everyone should remember that cigarettes, alcohol and drugs destroy both body and brain. Besides according to statistics, most of crimes are committed by people under the influence of drugs and alcohol. In addition it is recommended to watch TV less, avoid anxiety and observe daily routine. Certainly it's hard to follow all these recommendations, but every person has to choose between healthy life style and numerous illnesses.

В наші дні життя стає більш напруженим. Люди живуть під тиском різних проблем, таких як соціальні, екологічні, економічні та інші. Вони постійно страждають від стресу, галасу та пилу у великих містах, хвороб та нестабільності. Людині слід бути сильною та здоровою для того, щоб подолати усі труднощі. Щоб досягти цієї мети людям слід піклуватися про своє фізичне та психічне здоров’я. Існує декілька шляхів досягнення цього. Стан нашого тіла залежить від того, скільки часу ми проводимо, займаючись спортом. Принаймні, кожен повинен щодня робити ранкову зарядку. Найкориснішими та найздоровішими є такі види спорту як плавання, біг та велоспорт. Здорова їжа також є дуже важливим фактором. Переїдання є причиною багатьох небезпечних хвороб. Щоденний раціон повинен включати в себе такі продукти, як м’ясо, фрукти, овочі, молочні продукти, які багаті на вітаміни, жири, білки та ін. Щоб бути здоровими, людям слід позбавитися своїх шкідливих звичок. Необхідно кинути курити і багато пити. Кожному слід пам’ятати, що сигарети, алкоголь та наркотики руйнують наше тіло та мозок. Крім того, згідно статистики, більшість злочинів скоюються під впливом наркотиків та алкоголю. До того ж, рекомендується менше дивитися телевізор, уникати хвилювання, неспокою, та дотримуватися щоденного режиму. Взагалі важко дотримуватися усіх цих рекомендацій, але кожна людина повинна обрати між здоровим способом життя та чисельними хворобами.

THE DOCTOR’S ADVICE

Once an old gentleman went to see a doctor. The doctor examined him and said: «Medicine won’t help you. You must have a complete rest. Go to a quiet country place for a month, go to bed early, drink milk, walk a lot, and smoke just one cigar a day».

«Thank you very much,» said the old gentleman, «I shall do everything you say.»

A month later the gentleman came to see the doctor again, «How are you!» said the doctor, «I am very glad to see you. You look much younger».

«Oh, doctor», said the gentleman, «I feel quite well now. I had a good rest. I went to bed early, I drank a lot of milk, I walked a lot. Your advice certainly helped me. But you told me to smoke one cigar a day, and that one cigar a day almost killed me at first. It’s no joke to start smoking at my age».

3.8. Revise the grammar.

And now let’s go down to the other part of our class: grammar part. Today we are going to speak about Past Simple Tense.

Last – минулий, ago – тому, yesterday – вчора, the day before yesterday – позавчора.



E.g. He went to the Crimea last summer. – Він поїхав до Криму минулого літа.

We translated this text 10 minutes ago. – Ми переклали цей текст 10 хвилин тому.

He moved to Mykolayiv in 1995. – Він переїхав до Миколаєва у 1995 році.

2. When action happened after one another. – Коли дія відбувається одна за одною.

E.g. He came home, turned on the light, went to the kitchen. – Він прийшов додому, увімкнув світло, пішов на кухню.

Минулий простий утворюється:

Підмет + Дієслово (у формі минулого простого часу).

Усі дієслова в англійській мові поділяються на дві групи – правильні та неправильні. Правильні дієслова – це ті, що утворюють форму минулого простого та доконаного часу за допомогою закінчення –(E)D–, а неправильні – це дієслова з таблиці неправильних дієслів. Для минулого простого часу ми використовуємо дієслово з другої колонки.

Приклад:

Translate – translated; play – played; paint – painted; file – filed; print – printed правильні дієслова.

See – saw; bring – brought; find – found; write – wrote; have – had –неправильні дієслова. (Слайд 13)

Метод: виконання тренувальної вправи

Студенти заздалегідь отримали завдання і демонструють комп’ютерні презентації про шкідливі звички, здорову їжу та заняття спортом.



Now I want to listen some information about healthy lifestyle. At home each group prepared the presentation. So, we will speak about: healthy and nutritious food, bad habits, an active life with lots of physical exercises, good and healthy sleep and, of course, positive thinking. On screen we will see pictures and some information that our speakers must describe for us. (Слайд 14; 15)

Student 1: Health is very important in life of every person. It depends on our lifestyle, products we eat and habits we have. Health is much more precious than money, gold or some other stuff. So what things allow us to preserve a high level of health?!

- healthy and nutritious food: (Слайд 16; 17; 18; 19; 20; 21; 22)
Food is a key element of our good health. Eating healthy, nutritious and vitamin-rich products can improve your health. Fruit and vegetables are natural resources of vitamins A, B, C and E and other useful substances. Bread, dairy products, nuts and low-fat meat give you a large amount of energy and nutritious elements.

Student 2:- bad habits: (Слайд 23; 24; 25; 26; 27)
A person with bad habits risks to get a lot of illnesses. Smoking cigarettes shortens your life and can cause cancer. Drinking alcohol ruins your organism, destroys your nervous sytem and leads to liver malfunction. Taking drugs causes addiction and a large number of such illnesses as cancer, AIDS and tuberculosis. If you want to live a long and healthy life you should give up all your bad habits.

- an active life with lots of physical exercises: (Слайд 28; 29; 30; 31)
Doing simple exercises every day can increase your health level and improve your immune system. Physical training strengthens your organism and allows effective fighting with illnesses. So if you are active, breathe fresh air and don't stay too much time indoors you will not have problems with your health.

Student 3:- good and healthy sleep: (Слайд 32; 33)
Sleep is one of the main factors that influences our health. Every person needs to sleep about 8 hours to stay active during weekdays. Bad sleep can decrease your mental and physical abilities, and become a reason for illnesses and stress.

- positive thinking: (Слайд 34; 35; 36; 37)
A lot of people do not consider their emotions as a health factor. Being an optimist allows you to live more happily and easily cope with difficulties and problems. Positive emotions, smiling and laughing prolong your life and let you avoid stress.

At the end I'd like to conclude that without health our life is miserable. People should be more careful of their health and organisms. If you have great health you will easily achieve everything you want.

You will have a chance to tell us what you know about the capital of the UK and its sights. Besides we’ll learn the Passive Voice of the verb.

Our city is famous for its sights. G.2. We start from Trafalgar Square. It's a place where different meetings take place. There are 2 fountains there. You can see many pi­geons. In the middle of this square there is Nelson Column. To the left of us you can see the National Gallery.

G4. St. Paul's Cathedral is the greatest of English churches. It was built in the 17th century by Sir Christopher Wren. St. Paul's Cathedral today is a busy working church. Every day begins and ends with prayer. It was used for the marriage of Charles, Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer.

At today’s class you’ll learn some more new useful words and expressions on the topic “A visit to the hospital”, to be able to talk to a doctor, to understand his instructions and advice.

A visit to the doctor

Is there anything more important than health? I don't think so. "Health is the greatest wealth," wise people say. You can't be good at your studies or work well when you are ill.

If you have a headache, heartache, toothache, backache, earache or bad pain in the stomach, if you complain of a sore throat or a bad cough, if you run a high temperature and have a bad cold in your head, or if you suffer from high or low blood pressure, I think you should go to the hospital and consult a doctor.

The doctor will examine your throat, feel your pulse, test your blood pressure, take your temperature, sound your heart and lungs, test your eyes, check your teeth or have your chest X-rayed.

After that he will prescribe some treatment, pills, tablets or some other medicine which we can buy at the chemist's. He will recommend you to stay in bed for some time, because there might be serious complications. The only thing you have to do is to follow his recommendations.

Чи є щось важливіше за здоров'я? Я так не думаю. "Здоров'я це найбільше багатство", кажуть мудрі люди. Ви не можете добре навчатись або працювати, коли ви хворі.

Якщо у вас болить голова, біль у серці, зубний біль, біль у спині, біль у вусі або сильний біль у шлунку, якщо ви скаржитесь на біль у горлі або сильний кашель, якщо у вас температура і сильний нежить, або якщо ви страждаєте від високого чи низького кров'яного тиску, я думаю, ви повинні піти в лікарню та проконсультуватися з лікарем.

Let's return back to the past and remember what it is like to be a doctor and a patient. As at home you have prepared a dialogue "At the Doctor's". I'll give you two minutes to concentrate. The Future Indefinite вживається для вираження дії, що відбудеться в майбутньому. При цьому часто вживаються такі обставинні слова та вирази: tomorrow завтра; next week наступного тижня; next month наступного місяця; next year наступного року тощо:

e.g. They will work at a hospital.

The Future Indefinite утворюється з допоміжного дієслова will та інфінітива основного дієслова без частки to. Іноді у формальному спілкуванні для утворення першої особи однини і множини вживається допоміжне дієслово shall.
